Privacy Policy for Sidereal Sky

Last updated: Oct 1, 2026

Sidereal Sky ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Sidereal Sky app (the "App") collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal astrological data on any server.

Specifically:

  • Birth chart information (birth date, time, and location) that you enter into the App is stored locally on your device only, using standard iOS local storage. This information is never transmitted to us, uploaded to any server, or accessible by us in any form.

  • If you delete the App or switch devices, this locally stored information is permanently lost and is not recoverable by us, since we never had a copy of it.

  • If you choose to contact us for support, or if required for purchase receipts, we may collect your email address solely for that purpose. We do not use your email for marketing without your separate, explicit consent, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.

2. Payment Information

In-app purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat, our subscription and purchase infrastructure provider. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details. RevenueCat may process anonymized purchase and entitlement data (e.g., whether you've unlocked a feature) to manage your purchase status. You can review RevenueCat's own privacy practices at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

3. Analytics and Third-Party Services

  • We use analytics tools to understand general, anonymized app usage (e.g., number of sessions, crash reports).

  • We do not use advertising networks or third-party trackers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third-party service involved in the App is RevenueCat, used strictly to manage in-app purchases, as described above.

5. Children's Privacy

Sidereal Sky is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

6. Your Rights

Since we do not store your birth chart data on any server, there is no personal data for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf, it exists only on your device, under your control. You can delete it at any time by deleting the App from your device.

If we hold your email address, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of it at any time by contacting us at [support email].

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

A few things worth deciding now, since Apple's App Store review checks for consistency between your privacy policy and your actual data practices:

  1. Email — are you actually planning to collect it (e.g., for a "restore purchase" support flow or a mailing list)? If not at all for v1, I'd cut that section entirely rather than leave it conditional — Apple's reviewers (and your lawyer) will want the policy to match reality exactly, not describe things you "might" do.

  2. App Store's Privacy Nutrition Label — separate from this policy, Apple makes you fill out a data-collection questionnaire in App Store Connect. If this policy says "we collect nothing," your nutrition label needs to say the same thing or your submission gets flagged.

Want me to also draft the Apple privacy questionnaire answers to match, so the two are airtight with each other?
